A) STANDARD “H” BEARING PILE POINTS

Used to drive through glacial till. Protects the flange & web of the bearing pile from damage due to boulders etc.

B) ROCK INJECTOR “H” BEARING PILE POINTS

Recommended where the rock bed is dipping up to 50 degrees. The chisel-like point chips into the rock to prevent sliding and skipping.

Other types of driving shoes such as the Titus Standard point (above), Associated Pile and Fitting’ Pruyn point, the Hard Bite point and the Oslo point should not be used on bearing surfaces dipping more than 9 degrees due to eccentric bending moments.
